“Operation Serve Our Community” Christmas Takeover
For Christmas 2019, we served our traditional meal of chicken noodle soup, chili, and cornbread and distributed jackets, undergarments, toiletries, grooming kits for victims/survivors of human trafficking as well as toys for the children in the community.
New Transportation!
With the help of the Pollination Project and another donor, we were able to purchase a new van to transport human trafficking victims and survivors to medical appointments and treatments, pick up donations across the city, and distribute food, clothing, and toiletries to the community.
NOVEMBER 2019
Friendsgiving 2019
Our Friendsgiving brought out some old friends and some new! We served a hearty meal of turkey, jerk and curry chicken, rice and beans, jerk fried rice, macaroni and cheese, sweet potatoes, string beans, cakes, and pies to over 100+ people in the community and distributed clothing and groceries.
Tacony Academy Charter Assembly
Redeemed for a Cause spoke to high school students at Tacony Academy Charter about sexting, social media, child pornography, and human trafficking.
In the words of Sakinah Love: “It takes a village to raise a child and we vow to do our part one elementary, middle, and high school student at a time.”
Helping out with “Gifts of Hope”
Redeemed for a Cause Outreach participated in the “Gifts of Hope” event hosted by Narberth Presbyterian Church, one of our valued supporters. Members of their congregation give to the Redeemed for a Cause Christmas Mission and we were grateful for the opportunity to share the work we do.
Sisters United for Change
Redeemed for a Cause and Sisters United for Change joined forces to discuss and address the horrific crime of human trafficking. The love and heart to serve in the room was overwhelming. HUGE thanks to Sister Baseemah and the ladies of Sisters United for Change for seeking education and spreading awareness of human trafficking!
OCTOBER 2019
Annual Fall Clothing and Food Drive
Our annual fall Clothing and Food Drive was a major success. We were able to give out double the traditional amount of toiletries, food, clothes, and shoes due to hosting our event at a Meet and Greet for state representative Movita Johnson-Harrell.
AUGUST 2019
Pop-Up Mobile Medical Clinic
Redeemed for a Cause and the Philadelphia Department of Public Health (PDPH) collaborated to offer a mobile medical clinic for our women and girls. PDPH provided STI testing, Hepatitis A vaccinations, hygiene packages, and information on resources, while RFAC distributed literature, condoms, toiletries, and information about our drop-in centers.
National Night Out!
The 15th district of the Philadelphia PD hosted a National Night Out and invited Redeemed for a Cause. The welcome we received was beautiful. The community commended our efforts to educate the public about human trafficking and we were approached by the families of victims/survivors, community leaders who now recognize trafficking in their community, and individuals concerned about potential human trafficking situations in their neighborhood. Our team supported through these folks through the experience of recognizing and witnessing human trafficking close to home. We, and those supporting us, vow to raise awareness of the work of Redeemed for a Cause, reach more and more women and girls, and advocate for larger change.
JULY 2019

Miriam Clinic
Dr. Elton Smith
A plethora of family and friends of Redeemed for a Cause!
The fundraiser was able to raise over $3000 in contributions to help the organization support trafficked women and girls.
Pop-Up Mobile Medical Clinic
The mobile medical clinic hosted by Redeemed for a Cause Outreach and the Philadelphia Department of Public Health (PDPH) was a major success. Prior to the clinic, our team members and interns were trained on the risks of Hepatitis A, B, and C as well as the STI epidemic in Philadelphia, in particular chlamydia, syphilis, and gonorrhea. We are always seeking to further our education on the issues our victims and survivors face. At the pop-up clinic, PDPH vaccinated all of our team members and interns as well as over 25+ of our victims and survivors and RFAC distributed over 75+ hygiene and care packages.
